What can you expect from the 2012 West Coast Super D? Well you will be riding the same luscious trails from past years but like every year there will be a few new twists and turns. Just one climb to bust a lung on but a new take on the root for this year.
NOTE: The Canadian Pacific Trails Association which has built and maintained this trail network for over 30 years is graciously supporting the use of the trails for this event. You can expect to see motorcycles on the trails if you are exploring the area prior to race day, and also on the event day itself (except on the actual course route).

How much?
Until Apr. 15 we have early bird fees of only $15 for pre-registered riders who have a Cycling BC Citizen or UCI license, or only $20 for non-licensed riders. That's right - you can race for as little as 15 bucks. WCR is bringing you great grassroots racing at a great price. Only 200 spots available first-come, first-served. Prices go up by $10 on Apr. 15 after early bird closes, with pre-reg closing on 10:00am on Apr. 20 but race day registration still available on site.
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
Can I register day of?
Day of registration planned at $25 for licensed riders or $30 for non-licensed riders, but don't count on spaces being available. Pre-register for your best chance of not missing out on 1 of the 200 available spots.
Don't have a race license?
No problem. One-day insurance is included in the basic registration cost, or choose $30 option for one-day extra medical coverage. If you want to get a Cycling BC Citizen race license or UCI race license, CLICK HERE.
What type of bike do I need?
Every year sees a variety of hardware from full on DH rigs to weight weenie XC bikes and last year was no exception with 26 inch wheels and 29’ers in the mix. Maybe this year we will see the 650B but a 4” to ^ inch bike is ideal. If it's a mountain bike with knobbies, you've got all you need. Full face helmet and/or armour recommended for safety, but not required (optional at rider's discretion).
What type of rider is it suited for?
This is a grassroots event and if your new to racing this is a great course to start with. None of the descents are harder than you would find on a cross country course but if you have technical skills and fitness you will excel. The course has flow and if you can pick the lines there is opportunity to make up time on your race buddies.
Course Info / Estimated times
New course sections again for this year! Still lots of juicy singletrack with just one climb but expect a few new roots, routes, rocks and rolls! Fast times expected to be 12-15 minutes per run. Show up for a couple of race day practice runs to pick your route and then crank the pedals on your timed run. This event is run as a time trial format with each rider leaving at 30 second intervals. Course will be marked for race day only. NOTE: "Self-guided" changes to the course, including but not limited to moving of tape, rocks, logs, modifying or building lines or features will mean the immediate end of your race day, since we are guests of the CPTA, BC Hydro, and GRVD at this venue.
